We were recommended to The Mind Vet as we were really struggling with Marley our miniature cockapoo. We felt so sad and helpless as Marley suffered terribly with anxiety and life was becoming so tough for us at home with his guarding issues and constant barking. Going to the Vets and having a groom was getting so stressful we didn't know what to do for the best and we felt like we were running out of options. We contacted The Mind Vet, Joao (JT for short) as we did not know what to do next. With his help and advice and approach to Marley's condition he made us feel that we had not done anything wrong and we were not to blame for his constant high levels of anxiety. The medication worked almost immediately and Marley is now resting more and the barking has reduced considerably. He is so much more content and seems so much happier in himself. We still have work to do alongside the techniques that Joao has explained but life has definitely become less stressful all round. We now have a plan in place for his next groom and fingers crossed with all our effort and the support from JT, Marley will get through his next groom and learn to trust people more. We cannot thank Joao for helping us turn things round for little Marley and would not hesitate at all in recommending The Mind Vet as we now have more confidence with Marley and life is definitely on the up at home.

Our 18 month old Bearded Collie seemed fine at 8 weeks when we had him, but as he turned a year old he seemed to be increasing anxious around people and strange surroundings. Wed done all the familiarisation things when he was a puppy, taken him to puppy training and obedience classes. However, there is no way we could have walked him down a High Street. We consulted The Mind Vet when the dog was 18 months old and we started a journey together, taking small steps and trying various medications to ease the anxiety. After 6 months the improvement was amazing. He will always be an anxious dog in certain situations, but hes so much better and we now know how to handle situations. We now have a happy fun loving furry family member with a waggy tail. We couldnt have done it without help, and we were experienced dog owners. I would recommend anyone in a similar situation to seek help from The Mind Vet.

Joao is fantastic at what he does. We have a very complex dog with a lot of health issues as well as reactivity and excessive hunger secondary to his epileptic medications. He has been a great help to us and our boy Pippin. Joao has taken a lot of time to go through Pippins history, write up detailed reports to keep other professionals involved in his care, up to date and has offered us a lot of support to achieve a happier, calmer, less hungry dog! Many thanks, Lydia & Rob

Nice service. Very comprehensive evaluation of my dogs anxiety and social struggles. This enabled specifically tailored solutions and tactics that have helped a great deal. Something you can't get by trying to piece together yourself by watching various contradicting views on dog behavioural TV shows. Thanks JT.

We contacted JT because we were really struggling with our cats behaviour. Marshal had major issues surrounding food obsession and meowing every single night for hours on end and we were very stressed! We had even considered rehoming him, his vocalisations were so severe. Through a combination of clever environmental changes and carefully monitored medications, JT has absolutely turned our life around in less than 3 months. Marshal isnt perfect, but hes a far cry from what he was a few months ago! We will be forever grateful, cant recommend highly enough. Weve fallen in love with our cat again :)
