Riverside Surgery

The Doctors and Nurses here are fantastic. They've always been extremely helpful for me and my family. However, the phonecall that just took place between my partner and receptionist was not acceptable. We have called for an appointment for my Daughter, who has been unwell over the weekend. She was rude in telling us that we "really should of called 111" instead waiting until this morning to speak to a GP. My Daughter was sick during Friday night/Saturday, then nothing all day Sunday, so naturally we assumed this was a stomach bug. Sunday night, she was unwell during the night again, so we called the GP first thing this morning. Why do we need to explain ourselves to a receptionist? Her job role doesn't require her opinion on when we should of called 111. I am her parent and if I felt the need to call 111, I would of. This wasn't a case of her getting information to pass onto the Doctor; this was just presumptuous, patronising and rude behaviour.

This surgery is second to none in my opinion.We always get the help we need. The Doctors often ring me to check things are OK as my husband has dementia and I'm awaiting hip surgery. The receptionists are so kind patient and helpful we are very lucky.

Excellent Doctors and facilities. Always manage to get an appointment and when the kids are ill they are seen the same day with a call back from a Doctors within hours. The storys I hear from my friends and colleagues who live in other areas makes me realise how lucky we are in Bovey.

I phoned up regarding a sick note to get told! Not asked told to do it online and you dont need to speak to a doctor for that!! I felt the receptionist was rude and didnt want to talk or had the time to talk! Not impressed!

This surgery is very good. Complainants need to experience a GP surgery outside of the South West, this one is brilliant in comparison
