Great Oaks Care Home in Bournemouth | Encore

This is an appalling home. I wont even call it a care home. Most of these good reviews are written by staff and management during the time they were meant to be dealing with my negligence complaints. What a joke. It has taken over 11 weeks for them to deal with my complaint and accept fault as the management are so incapable of dealing with anything. I eventually had to go above the homes head and contact Encore themselves as the manager, James Glanville, at this home decided to completely ignore me. My Nan came here for 2 weeks respite and was totally neglected. She wasnt offered a shower, bath, hair wash or bed wash the whole two weeks. She was 90 with only one leg. Left in unsuitable wheelchair for 13+ hours a day and multiple meds errors. The list does go on. I come from a care background and this is one of the worst management cases Ive come across by the way that they have dealt with our concerns/complaint. One lady at Encore was very helpful and seemed to care and got things sorted but the managers at Great Oaks do NOT care and clearly lack empathy and compassion that they supposedly hold themselves so highly to. The carers may be friendly and welcoming but are either severely understaffed, not adequately trained or very poorly managed. I wouldnt dream of recommending this place to anybody. Theres no greater fail than that of the people in charge of caring for our most vulnerable loved ones, being managed by people who simply do not care and are clearly incompetent.
