I was, up until now, a fairly regular customer of Sands. I would visit them to touch up my roots and have haircuts. When I last visited Sands, I wanted to change things up a bit, and mentioned various issues I had with my blonde hair (banding/ unwanted warm tones/blonde colour lacking depth). We agreed on a full head of highlights to tackle this and I was led to believe that this would be the answer to my issues. However, after the highlights were done and I went home and saw my hair in the natural light, I was very disappointed with the result. I went back to Sands and had a follow up consultation with my stylist and the salon owner. This was a lengthy discussion with the conclusion being that I was wrong for thinking that this would solve all of my issues, even though my stylist had led me to strongly believe this, and I was advised that the only thing I could do was to have multiple sessions of full head of highlights (4+) and this will eventually break up the banding and warm tones. I did book another appointment for this with Sands as, at the time, I felt I had no alternative options, but eventually cancelled because I did not feel reassured that this would solve my problem. I was also mindful that I am getting married in September and I felt anxious that this issue would not be resolved by then based on the advice given by Sands. I felt quite unhappy with the whole experience and eventually went to a different salon for a second opinion. Long story short, I am now a client at a different salon, they have fixed my hair and resolved it without the need for multiple sessions of highlights at 79 per time. I know Sands has a loyal customer base and this review is not disputing that Sands isn't good for other people, but on this occasion unfortunately they were not a good fit for me, did not reassure me or provide accurate advice for my personal situation and I think it is important to provide constructive feedback on this. On a more positive note, the staff at Sands are very personable and friendly. Service: Hair coloring
