Instagrammed Westover to organise a drop-in session while I was in the Bournemouth area and they couldn't have been more helpful! Great box with a really warm and welcoming community. Would definitely recommend!

Last week, I was in bournemouth for a long weekend and I attended Westover for two drop-ins. This had the best online presence and that's the only real thing I had to go off; this is more of a comment on other Boxes in Bournemouth. As someone who is 4 months into Crossfit/fitness and this being my third time trying a different Crossfit venue, I had that initial anxiety of going to a new box. The set up at Westover Crossfit was perfect to resolve this case of 'drop-in jitters'. By being located at West Hants club and being greeted by a receptionist, I appreciated a clear professional, welcoming and systematic feel. No rabbit in the headlights. No lost feeling. No wanting to turn around and go back to bed. Just a clear welcome and a pointed in the right directions only. When I mentioned to the receptionist that I was here for Crossfit, she signposted, but also a member of the box overheard and encouraged that I follow her to the class. So immediately I felt at ease, that to me showed the community I was entering and what Crossfit is about. Then I entered the box which I noticed has a nice garage door exit for those running workouts :) and all the equipment I expect to see in a box. Furthemore, Adrian's calm persona was a game changer, he welcomed me, he asked me about any injuries, my experience in CF thus far and what I thought of the workout ahead. I was disclosed where I am from, where I am at and he helped me to scale and push where necessary. The classes were not too big nor too small, the whole vibe was a fine blend of calm and chaos as CF should be. What has been created here is quite special and I think everyone should attend, a truly great box for all abilities/ages. If you are looking for a place to start or to continue your Crossfit adventure, don't look past Westover. Thanks to the Members who made my time here as fun as possible. Shane.
