David has coached me now for nearly 2 years. Initially we focussed on what does a career change look like. I hadnt ever experienced such a thing, so this was an essential and valuable first step. David has always listened and without challenging, questioned correctly this has enabled me to find my own answers or solutions. Our focus then moved towards identifying what skills and qualities I had. An exercise that I found initially very challenging as I could only apply these to my previous work settings and job roles. David encouraged me to explore my future interests, likes, dislikes - together with previous life and career experiences through guided conversations. He was able to combine a reflective approach that was backed up with evidence-based practices, research methods and introduced current examples of business, management theories making them relevant to my learning pathway. Through this process of change and self-evaluation, with Davids support, I have been able to identify with and transfer my previous skill sets, work ethics, qualities and values. I can now apply these to a much broader range of future employment sectors. I am looking at much wider job and career opportunities. David has continued to link me with his wider networks, connections and has highlighted areas of potential training and professional development. I find myself in a position of knowing where I am heading having identified areas to focus my career on. I have a much greater understanding of what I need to do to achieve this and the steps required to get myself there.
