Like other reviewers, I feel badly let down by InTouch. I paid 700 for a company closure pack and despite this they somehow allowed a compulsory strike off against my company to go unchallenged, leaving me in very bad circumstances. Almost everything they do is automated based on template emails so it's hard to know what the next steps are. They even removed my access to FreeAgent without warning.

I lost 1000's because of Intouch. 3 x late VAT returns which they blamed on my previous accountant, many botched VAT surcharge appeals to HMRC. Changed my contact accountant 3 times. The books had so many errors at the end of the year I had to hire another accountant to resolve. After months of pain and countless sleepless nights I managed to recoup this money from InTouch who never apoligised and refuted everything they could. Ultimately they had to pay up (VAT SURCHARGES and money to hire a third party accountant) because there was a paper trail of a catalogue of errors. I was going to leave it there but after closing the book on this we have found EVEN MORE errors, misadvice and issues with their work. I assume their company doesn't function like this all the time otherwise they would surely cease to exist. But for me it was the worst experience I have ever had with ANY service providor - let alone my accountant.

I used intouch for over a year, initially they incorporated my whole business on my behalf which I thought was pretty good but the first mistake they made was my date of birth being incorrect on companies house. Over the course of the year I wasn't too happy on some of the advice they provide to a company director - everything seemed very cookie cutter and if you go off-piste they would struggle to provide you a clear answer. Most things are dealt with over email and it's quite difficult to chat over the phone. One of my VAT returns when I made a capital purchase was completely wrong, I think it's because the work is spread around different people/departments and so correspondence isn't coherent. My personal tax return took 4 attempts, initially my redundancy pay was in the incorrect field so I would have been taxed on it, capital gains and dividends received in the wrong sections, then not using USD to GBP conversions amongst some other issues. I'd have been better off doing it myself and using google for advice around what I need to be declaring rather than asking intouch. I paid intouch an additional fee to setup my alphabet shares, to only find out from my new accountants the job was only half complete. My accounts were a constant worry - paying someone to manage your accounts should mean less stress, especially with how much they charge? My payment went up twice whilst I was with them. On the second increase I notified them I'll be moving to a new accountant.
