We recently moved and have quarry tiles in the kitchen. We did a degreaser followed by 4 acid washes to remove years of grime to reveal a lovely salmon pink Welsh quarry Tile. We contacted the Tile Dr to see what services they could offer as the floor needed a seal added to ensure it could be easily cleaned moving forward and to get general advice. The lovely Phil advised that a buff and seal could be done and we had a choice of a matt sealant which would keep the lovely salmon pink colour or a gloss sealant which would alter the colour to a redder quarry Tile colour. We opted for the matt. Phil arrived on time and was extremely knowledgeable about his trade and our tiles. He was professional and thorough throughout and left us with a floor that we can now easily clean and hence maintain the lovely colour. The following day we noticed a dark stain which was not there previously so called Phil who explained this often happens with older quarry Tile floors after the process which allows the Tile to breathe and anything under the surface may leech up to the surface. He was very helpful in advising what to do and head office arranged for us to purchase all required to remove the stain. Here's hoping it works but if not I'm sure The Tile Dr will advise us on what to do next. Fingers crossed as the floor now looks amazing. Thank you so very much for everything Phil.
