The mystery of the vanishing host. I stayed here last Saturday night. The host was lovely she met me by my car (as you have to park on another street), she showed me up to my room and then asked what time I wanted breakfast in the morning. I said 8am (as I had somewhere to be). The accommodation is in town, so it is quite noisy (not their fault, just an observation) and there was fighting on the street followed by teenagers letting off fireworks outside at 3am (also not the owners fault). The room was fairly cold, although it was clean. There was tea but no coffee in the room. The bed was fairly comfortable and they allowed me to take my dog with me which was the main reason for booking the room. Now you're at this point wondering 'why has she only given it 2 stars' Well my friends, the next morning, I go downstairs at 8am and there is no one to be seen. Now the downstairs has a table but no kitchen, I hadn't been told to go anywhere else but text I text the number that the owner had text me on the day before to enquire if I was in the correct place. No reply. At quarter past I text again saying that I really need to have breakfast ASAP as I have to leave soon. No reply. By 8.30 I try calling, the phone is off. Its the only number I have for them. So I leave another text saying I'm going to have to leave. I paid for bed and breakfast, I was told that breakfast at 8am was not a problem and yet it, and the host were no where to be seen. I still have heard nothing back, I even sent another message to check if the host was okay, so I'm left with two options, either the host is dead, or there was been an epic customer service failure. I even put off posting this review for lost a week to give them the opportunity to explain, but nothing, so here we are.
