Kate Mell Flowers

I am two hours drive away from the funeral director so had to go online to choose flowers for my dear departed nephew. I asked Kate Mell Flowers for a bright flower display and although the shape and form of the funeral flowers was attractive, the flowers were powder pink and pale lilac, much more reflecting a tribute to one's grandma rather than one's nephew. Kate was so great to work with for our wedding flowers at the Normans! She is friendly and helpful and did a particularly great job of guiding me through the process and helping with ideas (I am not creative at all)! Nothing was too much trouble and we were blown away when we turned up at the venue the day before to see the flowers in all their glory. On the day, the button holes and bouquets were perfect and exactly what I had in mind. Thank you Kate! Highly recommend.

Kate supplied me with a wedding bouquet, posies and button holes all of which were absutely beautiful and got lots of comments on the day. Cost was very transparent and really good value for money Would definitely recommend

Kate did the flowers for our wedding and they were absolutely perfect. She ensured they complimented the bridesmaid dresses and suggested we went for a number of different shades to enhance the look. Throughout the process Kate was always responsive and very helpful, thank you so much Kate and the team!

Kate did our wedding flowers in June 2021 at The Normans in York. We met Kate a couple of years before the wedding to discuss plans ahead of time and were blown away from day one, which we continued to be more and more as time went on. She is such a genuine and amazing person! Kate will understand what you want for your wedding right away and be realistic with plans too, which is so helpful amongst the wedding planning juggle. Our wedding plans changed significantly due to Covid (as did everyone's...). However due to Kate's kindness, generosity and talent, the flowers always remained a source of immense joy and excitement in the run up to our (little) Big Day! It was a total dream come true walking into the venue and seeing what Kate had created. She is part florist, part magician! It was like Kate had read our minds of what we envisaged and made it a reality. From the incredible installations in the Ceremony Barn, which were then transformed to work in the Grain Shed for the reception, to the incredible bouquets for myself and bridesmaids, right down to the detailing on the button holes and corsages (she made a different one for Tom, with his Grandad's favourite flower). We've had so many wonderfully positive comments about the flowers at our wedding. The flowers were exceptionally beautiful that along with The Normans being such a gorgeous venue, they were the only decoration we had (admittedly we did go quite big on flowers, but it was worth it). It all looked completely dreamy! We really mean it when we say Kate is the best of the best - she is an amazingly talented florist and such a lovely person too. I'd recommend her to anyone. I just wish we loved closer, so I could pop in and get flowers from her every week! I've attached some photos from the day, which just give a glimpse of Kate's incredible work.
