Reading through my old travel diaries (15 March 2000) and can't miss the opportunity to add my five stars to those of others who have enjoyed a wonderful day with the birds and their human friends. Long may it remain . . .

Lovely sanctuary with wide variety of owls. Doing some great species preservation work. Also do owl flying displays in front of the castle.

Really enjoyed visiting the World Owl Trust at Muncaster castle, the picturesque surroundings and well kept grounds together with the large collection of owls make this a worthwhile visit. The owl flying display on the castle front lawn isn't to be missed, and the opportunity to get so close with such wonderful birds made this visit unique in comparison with other places I've visited.
