Alderwood Residential Care Home

Unfortunately my Grandad suffers with Alzheimer's and has been in this care home for 10 months now including before the first lockdown due to Covid 19, however he has recently been told that he can go back home after having a covid test and unfortunately tested positive for the virus, therefore he should actually stay. I personally think this is unacceptable because the care home new he had tested positive but still said he could go home and they told us this information the day after he went back home. So one of the staff has clearly tested positive and not said anything and being around many elderly people that don't leave the home but the staff go in and out , I think it's wrong that they told us the day after considering I have other family members Who who visited.

Most of staff good but unfortunately let my dad down on night shift. Was to monitor him and not leave him at all due to his condition. Yes they left him. Very bad fall threw him in to bed. Only thought about calling a medical professional next day. Cut and bruised. My dad was terminally ill. Staff should have been dismissed. He never recovered after that. Passed away due to condition and illness but that didn't help him. No care on that night. Next time do as you are instructed by manager and don't leave a terminal frail man on the toilet. As usual no accountability.
