This is an fyi post for others so they don't waste their time as I did.
Just contacted owner (end May 2022) and he retired this year in March so the place is now closed.

Not only does he know what he's doing but he always prices fairly; never charges a penny more than he has to. Recently he fixed up my bike for less than a third of what Halfords quoted me and a month sooner than they would have as well. And based on previous experience with that company I'm much more confident in the quality of his work too.
Opening times are a tad erratic/ unusual so I'd call ahead and also make sure you wear a mask and sanitise your hands before going in. I'm glad to see him open again as he is by far my first choice to go to for bike issues/ queries.
