Whilst in Bognor Regis for a weekend break had planned on eating at Mamma Mia, but it was unfortunately closed. So changed plans and found the Magna. Arrived just after 5 pm to an empty restaurant. Was shown a table for 2 right by the the bar and kitchen doors. Didn't feel comfortable being surrounded by the staff , drivers and everyone lingering. Was quickly asked if we would like a drink and poppadoms, ordered and they were on the table soon afterwards. The table was way to cramped but that's normal if there's two of you. We ordered the mains then next minute the place is almost full of a group booking for what seemed like a family event. The noise then became is unbearable that you couldn't talk to one another. They were so loud that it ruined everything. To make matters worse when the mains arrived my Chicken Ceylon was probably the worse tasting Ceylon I've even had. No depth of flavour, no heat , complete lack of sauce a the chicken wasn't the best either. The pilau rice didn't taste great. It seemed as if they were just too busy with delivery orders , then pressure with the huge group booking that that quality just wasn't there. I left most of mine quickly drank the beer and shouted for the bill. I made it fairly obvious I wasn't best pleased. It may be a popular place for the locals in Bognor Regis, but if and when I visit Bognor again I'll be trying elsewhere. Sorry not for me.
