A lovely B&B with lovely hosts, Mr & Mrs Skinner, who take pride in inviting you into their home and whom are happy to help in making your visit as special and as memorable as they can. A warm welcome greeted us from our hosts and their Parsons Terrier, who was soooo happy to see us. Candle Villa is very easy to find and the parking space is conveniently located just to the rear of the premises. The room was well appointed, warm and with everything that you'd expect including tea & coffee making facilities, a small fridge, wine glasses and a kettle. There's a well stocked bookcase with a range of novels, including of course a certain well-known Brighton author. We walked to the restaurants where we chose to eat for our two night stay. About twenty to twenty five minutes to So India, another ten minutes to the local Italian, Fino. Both nice restaurants in their own right. There's a little taxi firm in the village, four pubs, a few estate agents, another Indian restaurant, a convenience store, a pharmacy and a takeaway fish & chip shop & restaurant; all within walking distance. There are plenty of beaches to visit, ideal for a bracing seaside winter's walk. Bognor Regis, the nearest town is a ten minute drive, nothing to write home about, all very tired and a bit drab, and lacking investment. We did though have a game of mini-golf on the seafront, which was well kept with neatly mown lawns and it was free from sand and leaves. Sad to say that it was the highlight of our visit to the town. Parking wasn't a problem in the town. It was just all a bit tired really. Back to Candle Villa and our breakfast. Absolutely lovely, tasty rashers of bacon, locally sourced sausages, a poach or fried egg, hash brown or fried bread. And for those more health conscious there was fresh fruit, toast and a range of preserves and cereals. We had a very pleasant and relaxing stay, which was made by our hosts, their attention to detail and their enthusiasm for us to enjoy our visit. It's also very convenient for Goodwood, whether that's horse racing or the other kind of horsepower, including of course the festival of speed. We'd very happily stay again at Candle Villa bed & breakfast.
