So much respect for the compassionate, professional service from beginning to end. Information given by Trevor on things I never knew about and all my questions answered with complete care and accuracy. Truly grateful for everything provided. Thank you.

We have used K & T shields for both our mother and fathers funerals, they were from the beginning 100% professional and respectful throughout the whole process, a funeral is a difficult time for the whole family, but we were helped every step of the journey from start to finish. . Amazing service

When the unthinkable happened and we lost Dad, there was only one choice of Funeral Directors for our family. This was the third family funeral that K&T Shields has organised for us over the years. I am so grateful for their understanding, flexibility and immense patience during our difficult time. Because of them, we were able to give Dad the respectful and personal farewell he deserved and for this I will always be grateful - Thank you.

I would highly recommend the family run business to anyone they looked after my sister in laws husband and the service they provided was second to none. Then in 2011 my daughter lost her son at 23 days old passed on 27 december and Trevor came down to durham to sort things out for us. Fantastic service from him and colleagues once again thank you dear friend for the services you provide you did my Grandson Proud.

These people have responded to my review in their usual, dishonest manner. In reverse order, it took 6 weeks to extract the T&Cs from them and they have broken their own T&Cs in a number of areas, and they are generally unenforceable through their unreasonableness (although that does not stop them from disregarding statute law and the rights of their clients (or should that be victims)), they are also patently not those current in 2003 when our parents bought their plans, for obvious reasons that I can't go into, these buffoons clearly attempting a deception. Not bad for the idiot son of the family (who sent them), who has a law degree, believe it or not, and the T&Cs fail to comply with the appropriate legislation, I am not the person who was paying the bill, so offering me easy terms is beyond ridiculous, they have refused to honour my mother's funeral plan (a stand alone account in it's own right) whilst in dispute over the 1030 added to our father's bill without warning, I have removed no Facebook posts, as more and more of their scams were being revealed by other "happy customers", they have presumably prevailed upon the site admin (on a closed Facebook site - 37,000 members) to take them down, they are not the only independent funeral directors in Blyth to have the facilities to embalm on their own premises (my father, handled by these clowns, and my mother, handled by a reputable undertaker were like before and after examples - they need to sack their self employed embalmer, if they exist), and, if anyone doubts my word in any respect, ask any reputable funeral director in the town if the local Crematorium accepts the deceased for Cremation when clothed, they will confirm that that is the case. Or, you could do what I did, phone Northumberland Council Bereavement services, and they will give you the same answer. I did this for confirmation, once I knew that Shields had conned us, thereby robbing our father of that dignity in death to which he was entitled. ORIGINAL REVIEW; I am unable to recommend these untrustworthy chancers under any circumstances. Trevor Shields duped us into having my father in a shroud, because of "Government emissions regulations", Grant Shields repeating this lie in emails. This is wholly false, and we assume that washing and laying out, and hygienic treatment (embalming) never took place despite having been paid for in 2003. No one within this organisation has qualified in embalming as recognised by the BiE (they are flagged up with the BiE, and not in a good way) and, would this cheapjack outfit pay a couple of hundred to a contractor to do the embalming, washing etc. I think not. My brother was bounced into carrying the coffin, literally as we were about to enter the crematorium, only 3 pallbearers being present (we were pretty lucky in this respect, as some clients have been charged for bearers, and have ended up with Trevor Shields and a trolley). When we disputed the 1030 they added onto the bill with no prior warning or discussion (trying to bounce my brother into paying, presumably - as many people have in the same circumstances), they have refused to honour our disabled 90 year old mother's funeral plan. We have other T&Cs now!!! Again fail to comply with the necessary legislation, and designed to remove statutory rights for the client, strangely enough. THE BELOW owensae45 REVIEW IS NOT A DUPLICATE BY ME, BUT IS ANOTHER FAMILY MEMBER - THE ONE FOOTING THE BILL. HE, AS I DO, TAKES EXCEPTION TO THESE PEOPLE TRYING TO RIP OFF OUR DISABLED 90 YEAR OLD MOTHER, FOR 1030, THEN DENYING HER HER PAID FOR FUNERAL WHEN WE WOULDN'T FALL FOR THE SCAM. MENTION OF THE RISING DISBURSEMENTS IS A COMPLETE LIE (THERE WAS NO DISCUSSION OF). DISBURSEMENTS ARE PAYMENTS TO THIRD PARTIES BY THE FUNERAL DIRECTOR. IN THIS INSTANCE JUST UNDER HALF OF THE 1030 IS A DISBURSEMENT PAYMENT TO THEMSELVES???? Below reviews - they do know who Devlin Miles is, and Elegant Waster is not far off the mark with his review (bang on in my opinion). I think you'll find that the 5 star reviews are friends and staff.
