We chose this place for my wife's birthday, for our love of good meat and cask beer. And we were not disappointed. At least not on that end. Even the service was friendly and quick. Only the bill left us wondering, since they had booked an extra gin and tonic plus an extra pint on it. Including the hefty service charge on top of the bill, they overcharged us by quite a bit. The waitress was very attentive the whole evening and remembered a lot of details about our orders, but had not remembered us NOT drinking gin and tonic. She did not apologise, only her manager did, and even though they didn't charge us for the bread basket, it left us with mixed feelings at the end.

What a classic pub, another one that should be on your must visit list. Try the Moon lore beer. Didn't see Guy!
