Alamo Rent A Car - Russell Square

Don't usually do reviews but thought these guys deserved to have some positive feedback after seeing the negative ones below. I'm a fairly new driver so have never hired a car before - after reading some of the feedback below and hearing horror stories in general about car hire places I was apprehensive but I can genuinely say the whole process was fantastic. I picked up the car (which was an upgrade from the one I was expecting) in spotless condition. Thanvir (hope I spelled that right?) was really helpful - took me through the basics on the car and made sure I was happy before leaving. Returning it was really easy after hours and deposit refunded straight away. It was so easy and enjoyable I hired another car the following week from them and the service was once again excellent. Changed the reservation vehicle type and time of reservation via email on the morning of the reservation. They don't answer phone or email either. Avoid and find an alternative rental place

I just wanted to give out a big shout out to Mr Mohammad for saying extra time and being so patient for me to arrive even tho it was closing time a 30 minute extra time and still welcomed me with a smile And escorted me to the car which was a Fantastic Skoda Koraq with a magnificent performance, Comfort and luxury and a nice colour too I would 100% recommend to come to this Branch and definitely the cars they have like the Skoda! Respect

People who work at this branch are professional, specifically I was served by MARIA on 31/01/23 and HAMID on 13/02/23 they really know their job . I really recommend this branch to everybody.

Terrible experience. They emailed me the night before pick up to change our pick up time from 9am to noon because they weren't ready. We still got there early, and it turned out they closed at noon that day. The car wasn't ready for us, and ended up being electric which wouldn't work for us because we had a 250 mile drive that day. The car battery also wasn't charged at all at which point the manager tried to upsell us. When we agreed to the electric car he said "don't blame me if it can't get you to the end of the block." When he took us to the car it was not the 7 seater we reserved but a 5 seat vehicle. The woman in the garage recognized this and gave us a transit van for no extra cost, which saved our trip. But her manager was visibly unhappy with her. After the trip we received an email from the manager with a link to leave a customer review but he stated it was only for completely satisfied customers. If we were unsatisfied we needed to speak with him directly. This explains why they have a disproportionate amount of positive reviews.
