Castle Guards Farm Retreat

Just returned from an amazing time spent at Castle Guards Farm Retreat. Met by the lovely owner Emma who can't do enough for you. Little finishing touches from home made cookies, soap and themed decorations. The surroundings were stunning and felt so tranquil. Just what we needed from our busy lives back at home. We had a hot tub that was on another level heated with fire wood. The views were breath taking when sitting back in the hot tub and only the noise of crackling wood to be heard. Only 3 minutes from the lovely village of Cockermouth where we found some lovely restaurants to eat and takeaways if you prefer to stay in. Thank you Emma and family for this amazing experience, one to remember and one to treasure!!

Castle Guards Farm retreat was amazing. Emma puts in so much thought and detail into the decor, giving you a really warm welcome. We absolutely loved the easter treats which taste amazing and really adds a generous touch and compliments the theme. Emma has thought and provided everything you could need for your stay, which makes it truly amazing and puts you at ease - if you forget anything! We added on the hot tub as an extra and it was amazing, ready for our arrival and so warm, along with Castle Guard branded robes to put on. The views from both the hot tub and the pod were stunning, we sat and ate dinner outside on the bench, and later we cosied and watched netflix on the TV. The pods are so warm and toasty, perfectly designed and so clean. I couldnt fault this place at all and the location is perfect, so close to various attractions and things to do. Would definitely return again! Thanks so much. Look forward to seeing you soon.

I cannot begin to tell you how great our experience was at this retreat. Emma and family did a marvellous job of looking after me, my sister and 2 best friends. We stayed in Tarnities and wanted for nothing. Everything you could think of and more was there to make our girly trip a resounding success. We're thinking of going back and taking more friends to fill all the beautiful, clean, well-maintained glamping pods. Emma is a lovely smiley host. Nothing is too much trouble for her.

We had a wonderful stay at Castle Guards retreat, Emma was super helpful and friendly. Lovely hot tub that was ready for our arrival. We loved the fact it was so family friendly, we have children ranging from 1yrs -12 yrs and they all loved it. The pods are very warm, clean and cosy and Emma had provided lots of little touches like cakes and nice bathroom toiletries. The little shop on site is great and well stocked for emergency purchases and snacks. Its set in a beautiful area and the views are wonderful. A great little find in Cumbria.

We had an incredible time at Castle Guards! There were 6 of us (adult women) and our pod surpassed all expectations. It was super-cozy, despite the changeable weather, and the underfloor heating was bliss. Much better wood-fired hot tub than I've used elsewhere. The first thing that hit us was the gorgeous view of the valley when we arrived, and parking was easy - the outside spaces were very well-designed. The bunkbeds were lovely - obviously probably better for kids which we were aware of, but we still all slept fine. Most of all, host Emma was amazing, friendly and obliging. We were put at ease immediately, and she responded very quickly to messages. It is obvious that she and her family put in a lot of effort maintaining the lodges, and decorate them exquisitely! I am recommending this place to essentially everyone I speak to now. Thank you for a lovely weekend!
