Nottinghamshire offers many aviation memorials & most are related to WW2 as the county was home too many heavy bomber squadrons. This memorial is beautiful, well designed and very respectful. It is dedicated to aircrew that failed to return home and it is definitely worth a visit.

An exceptional memorial to honour WW2 crews who flew from nearby RAF Syerston. The design by local architect Keith Clark replicates the tail of an Avro Lancaster Bomber many of which flew out of the nearby base. Notable among the inscribed names are those from the 304 Polish Squadron stationed here. The memorial is set in the Bleasby Glebe Field beside the St. Mary's Parish Church. Across the field is a fine pub with a view of the memorial if you wish to raise a glass to the young men who flew here.
