My mother had been a resident here for three years until her recent death. I have nothing but praise for all the staff. I have read other reviews and I must say that I find some of the comments very disturbing. There have been a lot of changes in recent months and they have all been enhancing the lives of the residents. I visited my mum on a regular basis and was always made to feel welcome. I was always informed of her medical needs and during her end of life care I was telephoned to keep me informed. The staff made sure that I was present at her passing and nothing was too much trouble. The staff were visibly upset and did all they could to comfort me. Again I would like to thank staff for the care and dignity they gave my mother and would recommend Arden court to other families who have to face the decision to place a loved one in a nursing home.

I should've wrote this ages ago but didn't get round to it. My agency at the time sent me there twice after the first time I begged them not to send me back. I was literally doing the agency a favour the second time. I wasn't made to feel welcome by the staff at all. The first thing I noticed was the stench and the residents did not appear to be in a hygienic state. I was made to sit in a room all night watching one of the residents who was non verbal they took my phone away from me and put it in a locker so I couldn't even entertain myself it was a long shift. There wasn't even a TV or radio I could listen to. I remember one member of staff in particular giving me attitude for no reason she was a short, big blonde lady with glasses I think her name was Emma I could be wrong. In the morning they told me to dress the man I had been watching, he was extremely heavy and stiff he needed at least two people for assistance but no one offered help. I dressed him on my own and brought him to the lounge area only to be told by Emma the clothes that had been left out were his pj's so I had to change him again. I actually at this stage asked for a hoist expecting someone to help me but no one did. In the end I had to buzz for assistance with the hoist and when the staff finally came they gave me dirty looks and was quite rude to me. I heard Emma saying things about me, maybe because I was quite reserved. I also remember the second time i was there one girl who was working there told me she was pressured into coming in to work even though she had disclosed that she had d&v beforehand. I saw no joy on the resident's face and no interactions from the staff with them it was like they were waiting to die. I have worked in lots of homes one of them I worked in long term which is held to a high standard, these people forget some of us from the agency actually work full time in other care services. Ansom Court was probably the worst home I've ever been to and I reported them to the cqc.

Badly run and understaffed owners more interested in profit than residents.
