Brilliant place of resources for anyone wanting to take a pilgrimage (a journey with sacred purpose) on foot (or bicycle) in the UK. They have a huge amount of info and advice as well as guided pilgrimages if wanted. Whether you want to walk a couple of miles or right across Britain - this is the place to find a route that is right for you!

A charity close to my heart as they promote pilgrimage in Britain. Thanks to a distinguished team expertly led by Guy Hayward, they are resurrecting ancient pilgrimage routes including the Old Way. Their recent book Pilgrim Places is authoratitive account of the benefits of retracing our past to bring spiritually to our present day lives and to appreciate our heritage sites in the UK related to pilgrimages. They have guided pilgrimages too. Thanks to BPT in the future it should be possible to walk a number of well signed routes and stay/eat/rest in Pilgrim friendly places on route.

The BPT is my go-to resource for historical and interesting walking routes I the UK. It has information and route maps for dozens of walks which complement the usual, obvious and busier UK footpath networks.
