I completely agree with all the negative reviews on here, sound just like my experiences. Whilst it helps to know Im not alone, it is also sad to see that so many other people are not getting the help they need. I have been under the care of this service on and off since 2013, and over the years I have some horrendous experiences. I could go on forever, but I will sum it up in a few sentences. Basically I never feel listened to, and I am refused appropriate help when in crisis, I am told, Just listen to music and I will see you in over a week., and told to go to A&E if I cannot keep myself safe. Made to wait 10 hours in A&E, only to be told by MH liaison team that they cannot do anything because I have a care coordinator (basically being passed from pillar to post!) The consultant psychiatrist, Dr Sharma, is particularly unhelpful. Very unapproachable, never listens, tells me, I am the mental health professional, you and your family/friends are not mental health professionals. I was also banned from driving due to a form Dr Sharma sent to the DVLA, when I got a copy of this form there were many serious errors in it! When you are already struggling with your mental health, I feel this service only adds to your problems. Although I live with severe mental health issues, I am seriously consider discharging myself from this service and going private if I am able to afford it.

I was recently reffered to this establishment as my mental health was declining rapidly. I was told an appointment would be made for me to attend and that the appointment details would be sent in the post. No letter arrived but I managed to phone to get the details. I spent an hour or so with a specialist and was told I would be referred to Mind. I'd already self reffered to Mind who wouldn't see me because of the threat of suicide etc. A week later and no referral but a phone call from a Nurse who told me she was "doodling" whilst listening to me but didn't mind as she was "being paid" I'm not one to be offended but it did give me a sense of total despondency. I've since cancelled my next appointment and will try to figure out a remedy for my acute depression myself (if I last that long). The mental health care system in the UK is truly appalling. After using the service for a very long time I was told I was being discharged . This was after psychology sessions came to an end. I was told there's nothing they can do for me despite me really struggling. I am now going to be left without any support and don't know how I'm going to cope in the future. Future user's of this service beware as they are not a good service to use.

The further you stay away, the better. This place makes your mental health far worse than if you didnt try to get help.

I'm unsure how this place hasn't been shut down. Constantly missed appointment from care co-ordinators, no support from staff after being told to reduce medication and no follow ups, just as other reviews have mentioned. The women on reception seem helpful but there's only so much they can do. Avoid.
