Refused to tell me a price of a door because I'm not a cowboy in a white van. Fortunately plenty of other dealers aren't so arrogant.

Our experience with this company has been an unfortunate one to say the least. They offer a design and measuring service, but do not stand by those measurements when things go wrong, which in our case is precisely what happened. The kitchen plan submitted to us looked absolutely fine. However when the kitchen was fitted it was evident that there had been some serious errors in the measurements resulting in what has proved to be a nightmare that we now have to live with. After contacting customer services we were informed that the design and measuring service is complementary and all measurements should be checked by the customer prior to installation!!!! In short they have accepted no responsibility whatsoever. Shame on them!! If I had wanted to be responsible for the design and measuring myself I would have gone to a different company and bought units of a far superior quality for less cost - and had much more choice to boot. Howdens? Never again!
