In October my 11 year old son experienced his first panic attack. In that instance all that he was changed and he was fearful of everything. He would have panic attacks at home, and he was even fearful of car journeys and simply walking out the front door. I am lucky that I found Joseph from Chestnut Counselling within a week of the first panic attack. Joseph has a very calm and friendly manner and even though we arrived for the initial session with my son in full panic, how Joseph communicated with him meant that within 10 minutes of our arrival my son was sat playing Jenga and was the calmest I had seen him in a week. My son has benefitted incredibly from the counselling sessions with Joseph and is now starting to get back to who he was. My son always enjoyed the counselling sessions and even though he has finished his course of 6 sessions he wishes to continue to attend sessions at Chestnut Counselling with Joseph in the new year. I believe his counselling sessions have not only helped with his anxiety but with other aspects of his life. Anyone considering using Chestnut Counselling, I whole heartedly say go for it, it will be one of the best decisions you make.

After Covid I found it hard adjusting back into my hectic lifestyle; I felt as if I as drowning amongst my responsibilities. So I took the plunge and contacted Joe. After a brief consultation over the phone I knew I had already made the right decision. Joe is a polite, conscientious listener and really has helped me over the last 6 months. I'm happier and much more productive since starting these sessions. Anyone reading this who is unsure whether this is the right option for them. I was skeptical too, but its better to give it a go once than not at all.

I was recommended through a friend and I can honestly say its the best recommendation Ive ever had. My son woke up one day with severe anxiety which was totally out of character. Hed gone from being very confident and out going to shutting himself off over night. The minute we met Joe my son connected straight away. Joe has a wonderful calm manner and my son instantly trusted him. He also has a mass of experience which gave my son the tools to cope with his feelings and manage his anxiety. Joe supported above and beyond and was only ever a phone call away. Best thing that we ever did.

I approached Chestnut counselling after several months deliberating whether or not to seek some help. This was the first time I'd asked for support with my mental health and I was a little apprehensive around what to expect. Which is why I was so relieved that from the initial FREE "meet and greet" I felt completely at ease and listened to in the strictest of confidence. After only a few weekly sessions, I felt the weight of my thoughts lifting from my shoulders and the fog beginning to clear :) Looking back now, this was one of the greatest choices I've made as it is so important to prioritise your mental well-being. I HIGHLY recommend Chesnut Counselling to anyone that feels like they need some support.

I was extremely sceptical of going for counselling and didnt think it was going to be any help in all honesty. After speaking to joe for a free telephone consultation, I thought I would give it a try during what has been the hardest year of my life. I can now say after 5 sessions that I am so happy I decided to make that step. Joe is a friendly, caring and an unbelievably good counsellor. He genuinely listens to you and I think thats the most important quality to have as a counsellor. I was put at ease straight away, and felt I could go at my own pace, with no pressure or judgement on saying the right or wrong thing. Joe focuses on exactly what you want to share and I think thats really important. I definitely feel less alone during a really difficult time, and I really am so grateful for that. I would definitely recommend joe and chestnut counselling
