Strathmere House Hotel

My girlfriend and I have just recently visited Blackpool on the 27th, when we arrived to check in to our original hotel we were double booked and I was asked if I would mind spending the night at this hotel instead to which I agreed to at the time, when we arrived at strathmere house we were let in the back gates by Ann, and she led us into the house, we were met by an awful stench which I can only compare to an uncleaned care home, we were taken through an untidy cluttered room and told to go to the top and it was room 5. When I opened the door we both immediately knew we couldn't sleep in the room, it was the smallest room I've ever been offered by a hotel and the walls had black mould up them and the bed covers were absolutely filthy, I phoned our original hotel to tell them the situation and they were able to accommodate us again. As we walked back down the stairs we were met by Ann asking how the room was and I replied I'm not trying to be rude but we are not staying in that room or this hotel, and I explained why to which Ann replied " I think you are being bloody rude, I changed the sheets before you arrived" completely ignoring the mould situation, and as she opened the gates for Me to exit she barely gave me any room at all and proceeded to call me a b*****d. If you are visiting Blackpool in the near future or at any time at all, I highly suggest you avoid this place at all cost, I wouldn't even put a dog in this hotel let alone use it as a last resort. I'd give this hotel 0 stars if I could. Disgusting owner, disgusting customer service and a very disgusting hotel to even think of presenting to anyone.

My husband and I have just got home from our 3 day stay here. Owners Ann and Derek were absolutely lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Ann provided us with a great cooked breakfast each morning which set us up for the day. The bedroom was a little small with en-suite but it was big enough for our needs and we were offered a bigger room at no extra cost. Free, secure parking was provided at the back of the b&b. We were close to the South Pier and the beach. We had a great time and will definitely be returning. Thank you Ann and Derek for your hospitality. Donna and Garry Lloyd. Xx
