My wife phoned the practice today regarding a problem with her mother's illness. The staff were really helpful and arranged for Doctor Whittle to phone later that day as no appointments were available. Doctor Whittle phoned and the problem was sorted. May we thankyou you all for your hard work and professionalism

Firstly I'd like to say that it actually saddens me to be writing this review, but things have deteriorated over quite some time. The level of care currently is completely erratic. Now there ARE good things, and some of the staff are lovely, but its now at the point where almost every interaction with them is a difficult and common sense can be lacking. Its now impossible to get through on the phone. I now have to go in in person. There is a good chance the person on reception simply will not listen to you, and you are turned away. Some of them are very nice and helpful, but some not so good. Its this which causes and escalates most issues. Sometimes you are told to call back - to sit in the queue again. Sometimes you are told someone will call you back - but they don't. Sometimes during a GP appt they will advise someone will be in touch to arrange another appointment (Blood test or similar) - they don't. You might receive a voicemail or a text message asking you to call back sometimes, but they don't supply a name, or number, and its back to the queue again. I have sat in reception at 8am, hearing the phones ringing, and the staff have been sat chatting to each other behind the desk. I've seen it more than once. Most of the staff are very nice and polite, but I have also been treated rudely and ignored as has my wife. Its always the same persons causing the issues. We have also been turned down for care when it has been urgent. The place is now very busy (but in not resolving easy issues first time, they cause a LOT of repeat work for themselves). A lot of my issues have built up over time and then never actually get resolved. I also sometimes feel like I'm not listened to. You find the most popular GP's are completely impossible to get appointments with. If you have a complex medical condition, life is made very difficult because you can't ever manage to discuss all your issues (despite how the GP may try) and asking reception for a double appointment will get you a refusal. If you book an appointment online. Its telephone only. I've previously travelled to the practice as I'm unable to contact them on the phone, to ask them to change the appointment to one in person. While I am stood in reception the GP has called (an hour early), and I miss the call due to speaking to reception staff. I explain this while there, and get told there is nothing they can do, I've missed my appointment. This seems to be an issue with reception staff again. But you can't call patients at random times and expect them to be there. We have lives and jobs. Each interaction with reception over recent time has resulted in frustration and annoyance. There are multiple examples over the years which wont fit here. Some of them serious. The recent issue is they have removed my medication from me without notice. It is 7 days today since this event, and it still remains unresolved. I didn't receive a medication review. I wasn't notified about this. I found out by chance and have been left to deal with it. Its still ongoing after 7 days and nobody has taken the time to explain why which is frustrating. This kind of thing happens to patients like myself on a regular basis and costs lives. I am honestly upset that a Doctors practice I used to hold in such high esteem has gradually deteriorated so much.
