The Marinne Hotel

I don't even know where to begin in reviewing this place, so I will summarise as best as I can: it's a steaming cesspit! I would give it a zero if it had been possible. Now I appreciate that it's cheap at 26 a night, however I expect some level of cleanliness. There was none. The shower was full of mould, and my partner had to wipe the toilet when we entered the room. There was nowhere to put tooth brushes, hang towels, even the toilet roll was stuck on the side of the sink. The room itself was full of dust, and the bed. My. God. The pillows were orange and didn't have protectors on them. Two of the four appeared to be falling apart. The mattress was also without a protector and orange (gag). I would have accepted that the mattress was lumpy had it been clean, however it was an abomination. The carpet was disgraceful, and there was a strange smell about the place. We laid on top of the bed on the towels, but my partner snapped at 2am, saying we were going home after observing my cough becoming worse (I felt like I was choking with the air quality) and he was convinced he had been bitten. He didn't have to ask me twice, we got up and got out of there. Within 20 minutes of leaving my cough was much less aggressive, and we had a comfy nights sleep two and a half hours later in our own bed. My advice to anyone thinking of booking a stay in this place: DON'T.

Great value for money! The staff at The Marinne Hotel were absolutely amazing! Really friendly and helpful when asking for directions, etc. Was lovely to meet them. If we needed anything extra, they were always happy to help. The location is great and everything is a short walk away. Room was a bit compact but there were 4 adults in 1 room so it was expected! The beds were nice and comfy as well. The free toast provided was also a nice touch. The only thing I would say could be worked on is the cleanliness of the bathroom/toilet areas. It wasn't dirty by any means but maybe putting in some bottles of bleach/anti-bac spray, air freshener, etc would be helpful!
