Wheathampstead Music

I have been taking jazz and blues piano lessons with Richard at Wheathampstead Music since the beginning of the year. Weve been following Richards basic 12 bar blues course, together with learning some jazz standards which I have suggested. Richard is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and incredibly patient, explaining the theory and answering all my questions. I also appreciate the technology that Richard uses, allowing me to play in a band environment, both in the studio and at home. My playing has progressed greatly since I started with Richard and I would recommend him to anyone considering learning the piano, especially anyone interested in jazz or blues styles.

I was daunted by the thought of taking up piano playing after a gap of over 50 years, but Richard has made lessons enjoyable as well as instructive. He is very patient, flexible and supportive, and he backs up lessons with further information and sound tracks to play along with. I've already learned a lot more than I did all those years ago, and it's certainly a lot more fun!

Learning jazz piano with Richard is terrific fun. I had been trying to learn for almost 12 months before finding Wheathampstead Music. Up until then, I had made mediocre progress using a mix of online course and a personal coach. In the past six weeks since using Richard my confidence, focus and ability to play has increased tremendously. His approach is fresh, fun and highly productive. I would have not hesitation in recommending him.
