This so called "builder" fitted a balcony door a few years ago. Initially, we had a problem with the door as it was impossible to close it effortlessly. We called the manufacturer, who sent professionals to help us. They fixed it and explained how bad his workmanship was. Recently it has been discovered that the door was so badly fitted that we had water ingress through the sill which was caused by incorrect depth of the sill for the door frame. He even cut some of the back of the sill lip to make it look "straight" from the front. Moreover, he did not level the base of step where the frame sits. We also discovered a "floating" piece of wood above the top frame of the door, not sure what it meant to do? (as per picture). The underneath wall in the room downstairs was constantly wet for some time. We had to remove the door and re-fit it, re-plaster the wall downstairs >>> another thousand ..wasted. He did a few more damages, total cost - above 3000..I feel sorry for everybody who employs this guy! Totally incompetent! Very sad & disappointing. No chance if you try to explain to him how disappointed you are - he will put the phone down on you! Still considering a court case :-(
