My wife and I settled on MJH Builders after viewing three of their finished projects in our local area and talking to their customers. We received very positive feedback from all three and the work they had had looked finished to a very high standard. Our own project consisted of a two storey side extension and a full loft conversion. MJH were on site for 20 weeks and finished on time and within their original quote. We also had some extra work done at the same time. We are very pleased with the work we have had done and are only too happy to give the MJH team a good review. Highly recommended. We had our extension built by Matt and the team of MJH in 2016 and found the quality of the work to be extremely good, the team were punctual, neat and tidy and always kept us informed on our two storey extension and garage conversion. Cannot fault Matt, his team of guys and the subcontractors working for him. Matt managed our build from start to finish. He helped us through the design stage, choosing materials and shared the same vision of what we wanted to achieve with the project. The quality of his work and his team was outstanding and to this date people still comment on the extension and how great it looks. Not a recommendation but a warning. We used MJH for our building project. We were warned by one of his subcontractors towards the beginning that we would fall out with him as this is what he does. We hoped that wouldnt be the case! There were the usual building issues during the project with MJH changing things to suit themselves and make their lives easier but that was down to our naivety of our first build. We did fall out with them at the end of the build when charcoal grey tiling cement was splattered all over newly rendered white walls. They tried to clean it up but couldnt and we were left with splatters and runs down the wall. MJH we supposed to come back to finish cleaning. The first we knew that they werent coming back was when we tried to get the electrical subcontractor back to complete some work. He told us that he was aware there were payment issues with us and MJH and that he was loyal and wouldnt be coming out. This was the first we knew that there were any issues. MJH hadnt told us, and we were waiting for them to come back to finish cleaning the walls and then to snag. MJH refused to come back and clean the walls and also to do any snagging leaving us with issues such as a sliding door that doesnt slide properly, a hole in the wall that hadnt been sorted when fitting an extractor fan and a puckered flat roof. We have since had to have other work completed on the roof they had tiled for us as it was leaking. We also needed to have further work to the roof windows as these hadnt been fitted and sealed properly. The payment issues are related to us not paying the final instalment, as per MJH contract which is due for payment when we are happy with the work completed. We were still waiting for the walls to be cleaned and the snagging to be done. Instead of coming to snag we were threatened with legal action. All other payments and extra payments were paid on time or in advance of the due date. We have since received rude messages when trying to get subcontractors back to finish work or mend things as Matt and MJH have gone around slandering us. Please be careful if you chose to use this company. We have proof of all the things we have claimed in this post from photos to emails to text messages. Edited after response: Im guessing your comment about being recorded is because our ring doorbell picked up the workers when the tiling cement went over the render. We have tried to clean this up with toothbrushes which is why it may look better now. Were not sure it does though! The review is after 18 months because more things have started being flagged up to us by our contractors coming in to fix things as mentioned above. Service: Home addition construction
