My Uncle was discharged to Conewood Manor. Within 2 days of his arrival, his hair and nails had been cut. These are things that are so important but can easily be overlooked. I have been impressed with the standard of care, the cleanliness and my Uncle thought all the staff were kind. I found the staff that I met were friendly and caring and regular carers so they became familiar with his needs. I felt reassured he was being well looked after as he neared the end of his life.

I found the staff need to check on patients more often , communicate to patients easier and when someone is dying dont leave them in a room on there own . And need to change patients often not leave them in wet bed. Need more training with dementia patients as no pain relief Was given due to communication and understanding problems . In my dad last hours no pain relief was given untill I asked for it he was in distress. He wasnt given a drink because they cant have the patients to stand and help him or help him eat. They said they wanted to keep his independence he didnt have the strength to hold the cup The place was dirty the floors were thick with grime . . Made a wrong decision sending my dad there. .

Although my mother was only at Conewood Manor for four days receiving end of life care, I just want to thank all of the staff for their wonderful support,. Their kindness and care was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. It was such a relief to know my mum was in safe hands for the short time she had left. I am so very grateful to them all for their kindness and thoughtfulness.

My elderly parents, who both have dementia, moved to Conewood Manor in September from an awful care home. In spite of the disruption of the move they settled quickly and we are very happy with the way they are looked after. They have a fantastic room and there is a really stimulating range of activities when they want to join in. The staff are always friendly and helpful.
