4 March : For now I give just three stars. My app was lock and I was not able to use it. So I flew from Spain to activate it hence over the phone they was not trusted that is it me even so I provided all info correctly. After visit they let me know they closed my account completely. Spent there today noon and employees are nice. But not sure about result. My account is closed permanently. They said they have right to close your account wherever they want. Said that they communicated that in paper post. (M&S Bank informed me about similar situation over the email, Halifax did the same) They said my money will be transferred. Not sure what to think but is it really demanding when you move to new country and has to do ton of paperwork there hence Spain is quite beuorcratic by itself. March 17: so basically employees were lying all the way and no money were transfers to my account. I made a call to Santander and they told me that they will contact me within 3-5 days which was also lie because it did not happened. After I contact them again they told me that I have to go to the branch again. Which will cost me additional money. Basic thing about all of this that they do not give particular reason why they do so. Branch or people from telephone lines. Even so I have been in person with my ID in branch and also I passed all security checks. Which should already be considered law offense.

From the very beginning the customer service in branch and on the phone was appalling. My daughters bank card was frozen during lockdown due to non use. We tried to reinstate it however after more than 10 calls to the on line banking people and 7 visits to the branch we gave up. Each adviser in branch gave me a different reason for it being frozen. We were asked for my 13 year old daughters driving license to allow her to reinstate it- really! No matter what I provided the card wasnt reactivated. After hours spent on the phone the customer complaints department gave my daughter 20 compensation and we were told it was sorted. However the card still didnt work and the people in branch didnt know why. I gave up and transferred my accounts and my childrens. Please dont waste your time, no one in this branch has a clue! And the telephone banking is even worse.
