Run down with loads of building work in the garden. Feels very institutional & more like a 2 * NHS mental hospital than a care home. Not an uplifting atmosphere or anything 'homely about it at all. Staff may be great, i cannot comment on that side of it but the place itself does not feel 'happy' or engaging. Just very basic & functionl

Lots of caring and supportive staff but unfortunately some very serious concerns with procedures around care and background checks on staff in the past. Following a seizure my Mum was not given appropriate medical care. My Mum has also had possessions taken from her by a member of staff who had not had a criminal record check prior to being employed. When there was a problem with my Mum's wheelchair that was not resolved in good time, this resulted in her losing her little toe. I would love to think that these issues have been resolved, and would not re-occur, but sadly I am not convinced of this and concerns have not been properly addressed by senior management. My Mum is fond the of the people who support her and she would be averse to changing placements but if it were not for her preference to stay (and desire not to make a fuss), I would have questioned whether this was the right placement for her.
