Although there are limited opening hours, BOM Cafe is certainly worth coming to. A quiet and tucked away space within the city centre with an art installation attached. Cheap but tasty food, freshly made in the kitchen. Happy waiting a while longer for the food considering it seems to be made to order. Cafe staff were happy to adjust bits of the menu ! When we used to take the flixbus we always wanted to come in the morning but unfortunately the hours arent good for this

One Anarchic Flat White with Oat Milk On the weekend edge of Birminghams China Town lies the little known yellow Birmingham Open Media (BOM) building. I noticed a placard outside advertising its cafe. I lowered my expectations and walked in. I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. The cafe has a retro secondary school science classroom design applied to its furniture. The counter is lit up like a Christmas Tree. The coolest part, IMHO, is the manual plunger style espresso machine. The staff heartily welcome you. They are happy to talk about high brow politics or even cinema. They are relaxed about coffee, but thats great. I was happy to receive what was described by the staff member as an anarchistic Flatwhite. My first:) I thought it was cool how the coffee was served, matching the science lab cafe setting. A glass of coffee placed on a tray. The coffee didnt have artisanal notes, but it was sweet and pleasant thanks to the oat milk. The chat and bright interior lifted my spirits. A great addition to the Birmingham coffee scene. By the way, BOM Cafe have a great range of Togri Bakery goods.
