Hi I've been trying to contact someone from my local JW to express my thanks. As I'm wrestling with my faith at present & struggling with family issues, emotions owing to grief from the passing of my hero, my best friend my Dad Garry on 2nd February 2021. There's a lot doing on at the moment family wise owing to my Dad's last Will & Testament & I've been in a real dark place not eating or sleeping well & have had Covid & just getting over these symptoms but unfortunately I have long covid, so am still really unwell & I seem 2be on autopilot, so I went to collect the mail from my front door on 11/03/22 & saw a beautiful handwritten letter within the bills & junk mail which intrigued me as I hardly ever get handwritten letters, apart from my sister as we tend to write notes to eachother when feeling down, but I knew it wasn't her writing so I opened it up & saw it was from a lovely lady named Rebecca, a local Jehovahs Witness who was reaching out to people since the pandemic began, just asking how people are doing & showing that we're not alone & trying to share something encouraging with people, with all the negative news about wars & conflicts around the world & very nearby. So this lady chose to share some encouraging verses, scriptures from the Bible to try help us see the light in a dark time. I'm not a very religious person but have & studied the Bible & o do at times pick up one of versions of Bibles & flock through & stop at a random page & read & it tends to be so relevant at that time or I chose a random Proverb or Psalm & for some reason it tends to fit or help me understandwhat or why I'm feeling at that moment. So I want to thank Rebecca for posting her letter to me at a very dark time. And I may not be in to or understand the Jehovah's witnesses way of worshipping, maybe this is due to stereotyping JW due to the way I was brought up that JW were not to be given any time & shut the door on them etc etc But this is a lovely thing to do which helped me in a dark time & pick up my Bible & pray & meditate on a verse & rejoin an online Bible study group I used to attend. So Thanks to the simple action of Rebecca writing & posting me the letter owing to her faith in JW , had an amazing knock on affect in my life in many ways so thank you Rebecca. And whatever faith we may be or not & of we consider ourselves religious, spiritual Agnostic or just believing in something greater than ourselves, a God of our own understanding it really doesn't matter, let's all just be kind to each other & show love to each other, a smile a nod cost nothing but can go a very long way, just the the kind act of JW Rebecca posting the letter I received! Stay blessed , be gracious all xx
