Eye Opticians

I called Eye on the off chance that theyd be able to source some Gucci frames for me. I spoke to Tammy on the phone and was blown away by how helpful she was. She managed to get the frames for me (from abroad) and kept me updated while I was waiting for them to arrive. I was given flexibility with getting me in for my glasses to be measured as I dont live in Birmingham, which was really appreciated and found everyone was so helpful and friendly when I got to the store to collect them. EYE opticians Edgbaston Above and Beyond Excellent Customer Service!!!! Extremely professional, and friendly team, based in a beautiful and modern shop, with a fantastic selection of designer frames instantly available in store. Parking outside is free on the road for up to an hour, and I have parked easily on all 3 of my visits. I came here because they are a licensed stockist of Chanel, and many opticians (including my previous opticians), no longer are. From the first telephone conversation with Tammy, I was so impressed by her knowledge, professionalism, friendliness and helpfulness that I felt sure that if any opticians could help me, that they could. I needed my eyewear to be ready in less than 2weeks time. I had already been to two other opticians, the one for a prescription but sadly they no longer held a license to work with Chanel glasses, and another optician that sadly carried very little stock of my preferred brand and Id already lost 1 week of time as I had been asked to make an appointment to even view their frames, only to learn that they carried very few Chanel in store, so would need to order the frames from overseas, which would take approx / at least 2weeks plus extra time to sort the lenses. Today, just a week later, thanks to their great attitude, their listening, understanding (and efforts - pulling out all the stops for me), I have collected the two pairs of varifocal glasses (one of which are sunglasses) and both pairs fit and feel absolutely perfect!! I recall an optician friend once explaining to me why it is so important that varifocal lenses are measured and fitted by someone who isnt just trained, but are qualified and experienced. I now know exactly what she was saying. A massive thank you Shafik, to you and your fantastic team at EYE opticians Edgbaston!!

I have used the services of the Eye Optician in Edgbaston recently to help me with my poor eyesite The service I have received has been outstandingly brilliant, the staff from the receptionist Tammy to the Optician and the whole team are extremely professional, knowledgeable, polite, very well organised and extremely efficient. I can't recommend them highly enough. If anyone out there are struggling with their vision please use this business they will not let you down. Richard.

Any good impression from their nice receptionist and opticians will always be ruined by the owner. Absolutely intrusive and rude services, with no professionalism. He knows less about the frame I want than I do, but still being arrogance and confident about his false statements. When he suspects that you want to compare the price with others, he would become raged and urge you to leave, "let's not waste our time until you make a decision!". What a way to treat your potential customer. I understand that money is important, but so does the reputation. Specific for Lindberg buyers - Among the 4 official Lindberg dealers within the town, he has the highest frame prices and charges additional fare for installing the lenses (which nobody else does), even the worst service. DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE! Just feeling sad about the staff there, their talent and attitude are just being wasted here.

I have been a customer at Eye Opticians for several years. Always excellent, personal service. However, as my eyesight has deteriorated, I have struggled to find a prescription that gives me excellent distance vision for driving, yet be able to focus on the dashboard of the car, and be able to use a phone etc. Normal varifocals are always a compromise. Shafik (the owner) suggested I try Hoya 'En-Route' lenses. These are optimised for driving, and have filters to reduce headlight glare. They have a very wide distance and mid range field of view. Shafik spent a lot of time getting the prescription optimised for the frame and the angle of my vision. The result is truly excellent, I have very sharp distance vison, and can easily read the car sat-nav, phone etc. Glare is much reduced at night, and the lenses are photochromic, so great in the sun. They were not cheap, but well worth the cost, especially for driving. I now have a quality of vision I had 20 years ago. Highly recommended.
