It seems to be a great tragedy for the time we live in that ethnic minorities do not have the same values as the great British people. Upon entering the opticians, we were greeted in a manner that was not welcoming or as warm as it is to others which we saw first hand when an English man entered through the same door moments later. The welcoming the Englishman/white gentleman received was a far cry from what I received, but my partner. We are of Asian ethnicity. The service in terms of the eye examination was of a professional nature. Also, when departing the establishment, neither eye contact was made nor any form of professionalism in the workplace was met. Once again, I express my sadness that we as a Muslim Pakistani couple are recorded in somewhat lower light, as to those who originate from this country. Racism not only comes in derogatory words, but also in actions & body language. It was clear. We were not welcome in the establishment due to racism. Blatant racist treatment of a Muslim Pakistani couple has to the Englishman who came in after us. Racist employees need education.
