If i could give them no stars i would! I went in to have a look around, the staff were all sitting having teas and coffees in the office. The mess was outrageous. The kids were all crying with their noses running, looked very understaffed despite the staff sitting in the office. Children were crying for milk, which wasn't ready! Also, i was beyond annoyed about the fact that the nursery had positive cases of hand foot and mouth, yet they failed to inform me on the phone or even during the visit. I seen the notice on the door on the way out. They showed me their baby room which had one cot, apparently they had 5 babies in that room, who were no where to be seen. The nappy areas was filthy( hence why i was shown from far). It was hot and the windows were all closed, there was no ventilation nor did they have cameras around the nursery. I have visited a number of nurseries which have cctv in every room and have adequate ventilation. The hygiene was so poor for this place, i would not leave my cat with them let alone my child.

Our baby started here when he was 7 months old but we removed him after a couple of weeks as we werent happy with the communication. There are no handover notes for babies with regards to nappy changes, milk drunk, food, sleep etc. The handover is all verbal although in our experience it only ever consisted of, hes been fine and details about food, we then had to pry to find out more information about milk/sleep/nappies. The manager said that girls complete day sheets with this info and come out with a clipboards to run through it with parents but we never saw this happen. Our baby was coming home with a croaky throat and cry whenever he spent the day there but we didnt know whether it was because hed not drunk all day (this happened a lot- but not their fault as hes a fussy drinker) or because hed been crying loads? We were told we could ring to ask how he was and to do a verbal handover on the phone but then we would hear different things on the phone to what was said on the door which wasnt particularly reassuring. Angels use Tapestry to document photos which is great and the app was really easy to use but photos need to be approved by a manager so take a while to come through and uploads arent daily. Disappointingly, we didnt get anything uploaded for his first day despite me asking to please upload one photo so I knew he was OK as wed dropped him off hysterically crying. I understand that childcare providers dont want to be strapped to an iPad all day pacifying parents instead of caring for their children but this seemed to show a lack of emotional intelligence and understanding that its really hard leaving your baby with strangers for the first time and first time parents (like us) often need reassurance that their baby is in good hands. Our son started at another nursery nearby and the difference has been palpable. He seems much more settled and the nappy changes/food/sleep etc are uploaded onto an app along with loads of photos as well as a more detailed handover in the morning and at pick up so we feel so much better about leaving him there. When I ring up too they will be honest about whether hes crying or emotional which is so much better than just, hes been fine mum/dad. The price is the same as Angels too! Its a massive shame that we had the experience we did at Angels because its an absolutely beautiful nursery. The rooms are amazing, the outdoor area is great and the managers we met were lovely.
