I have just completed my final appointment with mark! Achieving 20:20 vision in both eyes! Having researched eye surgeons for 2 years and not feeling comfortable with two other consultations, I knew immediately when meeting Mark that he was the person for me! I am a total wimp regarding anything medical, he surpassed my expectation in every way! His ability to keep me completely calm and his care is like no other! If I were to have gone with someone else I dont believe I would have gone through with the surgery, but my total trust in Mark kept me at ease! I already recommend Mark to anyone even considering having eyes lasered ! Simply the best!

Mark was brilliant from start to finish. He made me feel at ease from the first consultation and gave a thorough explanation of each type of procedure and the benefits and risks of each. After my procedure he was very reassuring and even made the effort to ring me on the first evening to see how I was doing. The first few days after my procedure were tough and I was in quite a bit of pain so I got in touch with Mark to check that what I was experiencing was normal. Even though it was a Sunday he rang me back and quickly reassured me that this was normal after LASEK. I am now nearly 5 weeks post-surgery and I have absolutely no regrets and the discomfort I experienced was all worth it. My vision is so much better and I am hoping it is only going to continue improving and getting sharper over time.

I had my intraocular lenses fitted 7 months ago and wanted to wait to give a full account of how the whole experience has been. Firstly Mark Wevill was exceptionally easy to talk to and was very careful to access my state of mind and expectations of the surgery. My prescription was -13, once my astigmatism was taken into account. I had become intolerant to wearing contact lenses as I have shurgen's (which causes very dry eyes.) Therefore the intraocular lens was the best solution. I have had the extra lens fitted next to my own, rather than replacing it , as I was keen to get the benefits whilst my children are still fairly young, so didn't want to put it off till lens replacement was a safer option. The procedure itself was fine. Not pleasant, but bearable and more achy than painful. I could see more clearly immediately. The hardest part for me was coping with having one eye done and one not. As I can't wear contact lenses, I ended up removing the lenses on my glasses and taping it to my face as the size difference of the images from both eyes made me queasy. After a few days I gave up and just used the newly operated eye to see. It was 2 weeks before I had the other eye done. This was useful as my eye pressure had increased, causing temporary light sensitivity, which Mark Wevill dealt with by altering my eye drop doses. He subsequently applied the modified care to the other eye and gave me a pressure tablet too. I now have monovision: one eye for near sight and one for long. I must admit I had headaches for the first 2 months as my brain tried to work out which eye to use. The headaches are gone now. I do have halos around lights especially at night and these can be a little distracting, so I have to concentrate more when driving. I wear sunglasses more than I did pre-op and I carry a small magnifier in my handbag for reading labels now! Otherwise I love it. I can see everything! I feel so much more confident in myself. I utterly recommend the procedure and can assure you that Mark Wevill is very professional, careful and caring. His support staff were charming and very good also.

I had LASIK surgery just under 3 weeks ago now and am very happy with my progress so far. I am still very much in the recovery phase, but the difference of seeing without glasses is amazing. Mark was perfect and reassuring with any issues or concerns I had. For an eye prescription such as my own, he laid out my options for me and told me exactly what I needed/wanted to know, including what I would expect from a surgery such as this and what the future might entail for my vision. I was happy to go ahead with the procedure and am so glad that I did. Mark has not only changed my vision, but my family too. He has operated on both my parents and my sister, so the decision to choose him was quite fitting. He did not disappoint and I am very happy with how easy the whole thing went! The team at Optimax who assisted with the surgery were wonderful too and I am excited to see the world from a whole new, clearer perspective. Thank you Mark! :)

I had ICL surgery performed by Mr Wevill at the Westbourne Centre in Birmingham to correct my shortsightedness of -11. From the initial consultation I felt that Mr Wevill had my best interests at heart and advised me of the various options, his recommended treatment and the risks involved. He asked me to take time, look at the material he provided and do my own research to make sure I was comfortable and had all my questions answered. I was worried these types of consultations can turn to a sales pitch but this wasnt the case here at all! Mr Wevill encouraged me to take my time with this decision which I was grateful for. The procedure itself was done in two stages and I received great care both times. Despite being a nervous patient I felt reassured and calm throughout the procedure. I must say the team around Mr Wevill during the surgery and the prep are excellent too and I felt very well cared for. The follow up care was very good, I was surprised at how accessible the surgeon made himself after the operations, to ensure I was able to reach out directly in case of issues. This was again highly reassuring as I knew I wouldnt be left to fend for myself if something went wrong. I am now four months after the procedure and the lenses have settled in very well. I am very pleased to have gone through this procedure and only wish I did it sooner. It was the right thing for me and I thank Mr Wevill for his kind advice and patience getting me through this process.
