I gave this chuck-out 3 tries before leaving a review. After reading the fabulous reviews left herein, I couldn't understand why the first two times I tried them left me frankly underwhelmed. I thought maybe my choice of balti (both times) was perhaps the wrong choice, this dish is not their forte, maybe? So tonight, I ordered a Biryani with basic curry sauce and a Jalfrezi with naan bread. It came with complimentary papadums with onion salad and raita. These complimentary items and the naan were standard fare with no complaints here. The lamb biryani, however, was far too chilli hot, and the accompanying sauce was just not nice. I'm pretty sure their base gravy is the main issue with the sauce not being great as my Jalfrezi was also quite unpleasant. The Jalfrezi was very hot (I'd estimate madras hot), though a Jalfrezi is expected to be hot. It just didn't taste nice at all. I'd probably guess at it being over spiced - too many of the key spices being applied. Sadly, most of what we ordered was not eaten. Sorry guys, I did give you three chances, but three strikes mean there won't be a fourth. I must mention that the front-of-house guy was pleasant enough, so the best of luck to you. Just not for us.
