I work for Protocol because it is the only agency that my college will use. I have worked for other teaching agencies in the past who have been way better. Why? Because other agencies actually take into account a lecturer's quals, experience and track record and offer higher rates to more experienced staff, whereas they do not. Also they are very unhelpful when issues arise. Not only do they pay a month late but they failed to pay me for January through no fault of mine and I had to wait till end of March to see my payment for January. When I raised the issue it was "sorry but payroll cannot fix this" and "we can only apologise", well thanks but apologies don't pay my mortgage or my bills when I was left with nothing at the end of February. They could not care less.

Incompetent agency (AVOID!) - they called me and told me they found me a job. I attended the interview and the employer said I don't meet a particular requirement. This wasn't mentioned to me by the recruiter, so all that effort and travelling to interview for nothing. They like sending you to interviews, sweet talking you and wasting your time for nothing.

I registered with them, I made courses online, I sent them references, I waited for them to give me news and....... nothing. I'm the one who had to call them to tell me that if we didn't contact you it's because we have nothing, they would have just sent me an email to let me know it would have been professional.
