First ever visit, nice and clean classic bath house , extremely friendly staff, cosy with interesting function rooms , relaxing area, sauna room , steam room, fitness room etc In spite of Thursday , quite a lot of mature guys showed up . Had good time , will go again definitely.

First ever visit, nice and clean classic sauna, extremely friendly staff. Cosy with interesting function rooms, sauna, steam, fitness, tv , etc. Free WiFi In spite of Thursday afternoon, quite a lot of nature guys showed up. Highly recommended. Will certainly go again in the next couple of days .

This is Birmingham's longest serving sauna for gay/bi men which opened in 1982. Located in an inconspicuous converted and well-maintained terraced house which faces the pretty Victorian Brookvale park and lake. Friendly, knowledgeable proprietor Vince. Once through the security door (entrance fee still only 10 in 2022) ground floor has 2 showers, sauna cabin (seats 8) and steam room (seats 8) plus changing room with hairdryer/mirror/deodorant. First-floor facilities: Pay on entry at the front door. Then through the security door (after collecting your towel and locker key) and youre in the bijou coffee bar at the front of the building where you can have a snack/drink and watch large screen TV. Food and beverages are very reasonably priced. On the first floor youll find a big TV lounge (easily seats 10), two relaxing cabins and a small separate gym, plus seperate toilet area. The basement houses another large screen TV and 2 small relaxing cabins. A mix of nice, friendly guys make the place warm and welcoming. Located literally a 5 minute drive from Spaghetti junction and only 10 minutes drive into Birmingham City centre down the A38 expressway. Easy parking outside Spartan (George Road) or side road nearby. Usually busiest from 12:00 to 18:00. Location very good for passing tradesmen (reps/drivers/truckers, etc). The layout of the club is well thought-out and clean. Spartan is more intimate and definitely more friendly than the difficult to reach (especially if youre not driving), oversized, and vastly overpriced Greenhouse which now charges 17 (2022). Small, but perfectly formed, Spartan is well worth a visit - especially if youre a newbie and unsure of what to expect. Youll be made welcome. ***** Free condoms/lube available.
