We wouldn't recommend this company as our experience has been disappointing and stressful. We believe Caine Flloring should not be part of your shortlist if you care about your project and money. We contracted Caine flooring to remove old screed and replace with sandwiched screed (levelling compound) with layer of liquid DPM in between on our ground floor -2 reception rooms, hallway and storage under stairs. This would have followed with LVT installation which we did not proceeded with given our experience with them. In the first stage of removing the old screed, they didnot carry out full scope and didnot remove the old screed from under the stairs. They even did not bother to inform us until I aksed and just wanted to cover it up with levelling compound quickly. When asked, they made excuse of asbestos and totally ignored our offer that we can get it tested in 24 hours to prove a point. Also, they had removed the same screed from other rooms. At this point, we didnt want to ruin the works so we let them carry on but mark of unprofessional attitude was evident. The levelling material used was cheap and poor quality. Moreover, workmanship was poor which is evident below and in pics. Stage 2 was laying DPM which again was highly incompetent (please see pics). DPM not laid along the edges of room and not consistent at all. When we pointed this to Peter, we were given excuse the they are floor experts and it does not matter as skirting boards would cover the edges. Also, the DPM coat was not consistent and very thin coat in most of the places. When we asked about this to Peter, again we were told that it does not matter if coat is thin. Further, Peter said that we would be looking to pay him if he were to correct the mistake which clearly is sign of unprofessional tradesman. Clearly, we didnot expect such responses and believe Caine flooring is interested only in your money and do not care about home/project. Stage 3 was to lay final level of screed on top of DPM. The works carried out were highly incompetent as you can see in pics. The levelling compound had dips in many places, corners were not protected at all, the door threshold was ruined, the levelling compound had flown from hallway to reception room. Finish was patchy and rough which was promised to be "glass finsh" by Peter. I believe DIY would be better than paying to this company. So, if you want works for your own home or for your business, please refrain from this company. Service: Flooring repair

Completely incompetent company, failed to fit my LVT to the manufacturer guidelines which has left me with a floor where the ends of nearly every board rises! The floor was not rolled and the boards were not acclimatised which the manufacturer says should be done to ensure the boards do not expand like they have. The owner Pete has an answer for everything and lies consistently to get out of doing the job properly. We had a few initial 'hiccups' including him pouring floor levelling compound which is similar to cement into the next door neighbour's garden and then insisting it was only 'a bit of water in the bottom of his bucket' which should have been absorbed into the ground, our neighbour had to stop her dog from eating the liquid cement. Pete explained that he thought it was my garden as if that would be any better. His fitter said he would have usually rolled the floor but he didn't have the roller on the van, when Pete was asked about this later he said this floor isn't one which usually needs to be rolled.... Going off the end product and after speaking to the manufacturer this was another lie. His fitter last came round on 17/09/20 and re stuck some of the boards which were lifting but again didn't roll them, the fitter phoned Pete and told him that there was still a problem with the boards and said Pete would be in touch with a date when the fitter would return with a new pack of boards and replace those which are rising. I then messaged Pete on 29/09/20, 23/10/20, 26/10/20 and 29/11/20 with only 1 reply on 26/10/20 saying he was in the maternity suite as his Mrs was having a baby, this was initially fitted on 06/07/20! His response to any issues raised to him is 'I haven't had this issues in 20 years of fitting floors' and is completely dismissive and rude. He is now in receipt of an email outlining how unhappy I still am at my floor which looks like the surface of the moon and due to him now not even answering any messages the next stop will be legal action.
