I have been in the UK for about 4 years. From the time I joined them I never got good treatment. As long as I went to them for appointment with doctor they said no appointment and even if you want call later. When I call them the system says your serial number is behind 15 people. And when the name comes, the line is cut. Also, the behavior of the people who work at the reception is so bad that it is not worth . Even though my mum had operation appointment also she got less iron on her body they knew the but they didnt send any medicine for her when my mum ask about this then they said have you not received any medicine yet my mum said no how do i know they said you should right it down on paper to remember us for sending medicine .

My GP Dr S S Ahmed, office manager, practice nurse and front of house receptionist are truly a magnificent team. Ive read some reviews that are not my experiences when I contact my GP via telephone for an appointment. Yes, you have to wait patiently in a queue that could take as long as 30-45 minutes to get through depending on what time you call. Just now Ive ordered my repeat prescription via the POD service. 10.10am and lucky for me I was number 1. The lady was professional listened to my query and read back professionally without stutter each of my extensive list of medication. NHS has taken a battering lately since covid and GPs have been under immense pressure and strain since. All I can say having been with the same GP since as long as I can remember over 50 years. Mr Riyaz Ahmed was my original GP and since his untimely passing his son has stepped in and continued the legacy and professionalism. A welcoming friendly face his father instilled in his practice that Lozells and wider Birmingham have surely had the comfort knowing when you want and see your GP you will get the best of the best of service. Unfortunately I have become unwell and have had to see the GP over Xmas and was booked in with another GP who now works alongside Dr S Ahmed who was not available. Im normally stubborn and would demand to see DR Ahmed but i need not to worry as I was checked and sent for tests and hospital scans and arrangements for follow up tests etc. I now have several hospital appointments in place to hopefully get me well as can be over the next few months. We have to look at ourselves first and not blame the GP receptionist if you cant get through or they seem rude. They are human like us and the last thing they want is their GPs patients getting upset. I moved out of the area some 35 yrs ago but never changed my GP, Why?you can ask yourself. One: I was born and bred in Lozells, two: in a house (not an hospital) a stones throw from the current surgery. The area has changed and so as the people but I feel comfortable walking around Lozells as I do visiting my Medical Practice, Finch Rd, Lozells and Dr Sohaib Ahmed and his practice team get five star ratings from me for the care Ive always got and have been having lately. Thank you team: Lozells Medical Practice M Walker (a patient since late 60s) 24/02/23

DR AHMED IS amazing. But the rest of the team not even a one star. Awful service. Waited for 1 hour 30 mins. I was in tenth position. Secretary stated she will see if an appointment gets cancelled, in order to get me an appointment. The call lasted a minute. So why did I have to wait an hour and 30mins? I'm sure the other 9 calls before me must have lasted a couple a number of mins or less. The Secretaries waste alot of time and answer calls as and when they please. The Secretaries really abuse the system. The Secretaries also act as if they are doctors; they haven't got a clue about a patients sickness, however, still think they can diagnose the sickness in hand over the phone or at the desk. I feel Secretaries with a degree or a top qualification should work at the GP surgeries. Most of them could hardly string a formal sentence together. Appalling service.
