In terms of communication; I had to call several times as well as leave messages to get simple queries answered such as whether I can pay by credit card or the status of my diagnostic. It took several days to get a response as well as the technician openly admitting that he had my number blocked on his phone (which doesn't usually happen by mistake).
The payment made me very suspicious as I was initially told I could pay by credit card for the diagnostic; and later the technician told me that I couldn't and if I wished to I'd have to pay extra VAT which was not stated on the invoice. They heavily insisted on paying by cash which made me question the practice of a business that receives such large payments. The technician later backed down and agreed on the original cost by credit card. He understood I no longer wanted to go ahead with the repair due to the lack of professionalism and started asking me if it was because I couldn't afford it and on his own accord began to haggle and cut down the price of the repair. Which I found unsettling as for a motherboard repair I would only expect a set cost.
At this point I was very uncomfortable to proceed with the repair and wanted the laptop back. I was told by the technician (bear in mind there is only one employee and no manager) that he could not bring my laptop back to me after 5pm although their website advertises longer opening hours. When I called the store to see if I could pick it up I was told it is not open to customers at the moment which is also a red flag in my opinion if you cannot casually walk in. I was told I had to arrange a time with the technician.
I finally retrieved my laptop from the diagnostic and there was damage to my laptop. A bit dent in the bottom of it. I am not sure what they did as there is a dent in the same place on the laptop case. Very disappointing as the technician didn't even apologise when he gave the laptop back.
All in all my experience was terrible and I do not recommend this company. Considering how they haggled with the cost of repair don't be surprised to get a half done job with dodgy parts. I have since sought advice from another repair company who advised that I only complete the repair with the manufacturer as it is a very specialist repair. Which further supports my suspicions about receiving a half done job with this company.
