Very disappointed in what should have been a memorable occasion buying my daughters first car. Don't be dexpceived by Steve's approachable manner. He told us a succession if lies. No second key as promised, no service history record as promised, no organising a log book as promised. We've spent months worrying whether we have bought a legal car. All subsequent calls were met with endless excuses. If he'd spent that time more usefully we wouldn't have had to resort to paying DVLC for a replacement log book, and paying for a second key. The worst car purchase ever, and I'm nearly 60!

Very poor experience with SM Motors Wirral BEWARE of SM Motors! We bought a Fiat 500 car for our daughter from SM Motors on 06/4/2022. Steve assured us over phone before viewing the car that it had a spare key, FSH etc. On collection and only after paying by Bank Transfer (Steve would not accept card payments, and only accepts cash or bank transfer!?!) did he tell us he didn't have the spare key or FSH, but as he was selling the car on behalf of a family friend, he would get the book fully stamped and send both to us asap, as we don't live in the area. Despite numerous calls, texts, emails and Whatsapp, Steve is now 6+ weeks later, completely refusing to answer any correspondence, and has NOT sent us the key or FSH booklet. In addition, he hasn't informed DVLA of new ownership. Steve had various excuses for not having all the right paperwork and assured us he would deal with DVLA etc., but he cannot be trusted to do anything after you have paid! Update 10/06/2022 Steve rang me the day my review was published to say he would send the spare key, service book etc and will advise DVLA of change of owner He says hes been Ill and unable to get in work, but from the website I notice hes still selling cars! 4-5 weeks on and still no keys, log book nor service book. No response to emails from Steve. Do not trust this car dealer

I bought my corsa diesel from Steve at SM MOTORS. I travelled from crosby to the wirral to buy it. Steve was so helpful and honest,this being the reason i went to them. Nothing was a problem to him,he done everything and more that i asked of him to make the car perfect before i drove it away.I would recommend this garage to anybody looking for a second hand car. Thanks again Steve.

BEWARE of SM Motors!
