Brookway Cars

I bought a Vectra VXR from these guys back around November 2021, As far as I am aware the car was leaking coolant from day one but since I walked to work and only drove the car on weekends it only leaked when it was at temperature. This was noticed after about a month, I returned car after noticing the leak and ask them to investigate and fix which they said they did. Onwards to around 3 months into owning the car I noticed the coolant was low again. This is where the fun started, they stated I was only entitled to 3 month warranty when legally you get 6. Needless to say I had the problem investigated by Vauxhall and they confirmed a coolant leak and quoted to fix it, I forwarded this to Brookway along with a letter of complain stating I would take this further if the repairs where not done, they waited the maximum 2 weeks laid out in my complaint letter before saying they would fix it. The car was returned and they fixed it again, well they didn't, as far as I can tell they topped up the coolant and said the leak was from the filler cap which was rubbish. I had the car returned and found it was still leaking, I did a bit more investigation and found that the coolant tank low coolant sensor had been tampered with so it wouldn't throw a low coolant warning message. I am not a mechanic but after a cursory inspection of my engine bay I found this fault, I can only imagine the mechanic they use is not the brightest spark since they investigated a coolant leak on this car twice and missed it both times or they knew about it and just didn't care. Anyway, they again said they would only fix these issues after a second letter of complaint was sent out and they again dragged it out another 14 days before agreeing to repair the car. The car went back and they "fixed" it again, they said they did a road test and pressure test which I think was a lie because guess what, that's right the car was still leaking coolant. Now I had 2 choices, I could send a 3rd and final letter of complaint asking for my money back and refuse any further attempts as repairing the car or I could take it somewhere else to try get the car fixed. I loved the car and wanted to keep it so I chose to try get the car fixed by an actual decent garage. 400 later and a new seal and the car was perfect. If you find a rare car that is a bit special be prepared to have any repairs done by someone else because Brookways were useless with my issues. If the car is pretty common look to buy one from somewhere else, its not worth the hassle. If you do buy a car from here know your consumer rights, document everything and contact citizens advice, they offer free help when dealing with these types of people. TLDR, AVOID THIS DEALER, if they sell you a lemon they will do everything they can to drag it out and not do any repair work and when they say they will do the repair work, they will do the bear minimum to make it look like its fixed when its not. We bought a 7 seater volvo xc90 from this garage and we couldn't be happier with it. John is a really nice fair guy and we would recommend this garage to our family and friends. Hopefully do business again with brookway cars. Thanks again John!!!!!

Brought a zafira from here last Saturday Very pleasant experience ,guys are so helpful and lovely nothing is too much ! Car needed a minor fix phoned them they looked at it and sorted it Ive brought many second hand cars from many dealers and have to say these are by far the best ! I won't be going anywhere else from now on and would recommend this car sales to anyone ! Thanks guys
