I'm a recent returning customer and I don't recognise most aspects of the one star review left previously. I've always found SS to be good people to deal with. I took a faulty sub in on the Friday and it was ready the following Monday. They've been very helpful and friendly in all my dealings with them. I think the previous reviewer must have fallen out of bed the wrong side that day as he criticises, unfairly in my view, just about every aspect of his experience with SS. True if you go into the shop there is equipment on the floor, stacked up in the windows etc and your repaired gear may be placed on top of something else but I'm happy SS looked after my gear the whole time it was there. I work in retail (nothing to do with SS by the way!) and I've experienced these massively negative reviews in my own business. The slightest little thing can upset some people and cause them to try and destroy the reputation you've spent years building. SS has been around for many years so they are obviously getting something right! To summarise, I'll return to SS with confidence and you should too. Great service, reasonable prices and quick turnaround.

I took my Aiwa record player to SS for repair to wiring and tone arm and was told I would hear within 10 days. Rang them 2 weeks later - not fixed, told me SS will ring when its ready. One week later, same thing; one week later again, same thing. Still not fixed but its on the work bench and we will ring you back. Still no call so I went to the shop to take the deck back but was told weve fixed the wiring so I had to leave it with them to finish the work. Collected the deck about a week later but when we tried it the tone arm was dropping onto the records instead of slowly lowering, and it was skating across. After all the trauma I decided not to take it back as I felt I couldnt trust them any more. Took it to Oxton hi-fi and Tom, the very knowledgeable owner, fixed the problem within 24 hours. Before posting this review I called into SS to tell them about these issues and to ask for a refund on the part of the job they hadnt done properly. The lady I spoke to was rude and abrasive but promised me that Bill would ring me later. Guess what? Im still waiting.
