        Used these opticians for years. (2nd generation family business) Always very friendly and professional. Text reminders for appointments. Can book online, via phone or in person. Do diabetic eye checks as well as standard NHS, laser scans for eye health also available for small extra charge. For me (needing more than plain single vision lenses) , prices are competitive and are good value (don't forget you are buying something for possibly 2 years or more).

        I have worn glasses since I was ten so I have been to many different opticians over the years. However, none compare to Houghton Opticians. I needed some specialised advice on contact lenses due to issues with my eyes following laser eye surgery. Natalie has been so thorough in finding the right lenses for me and I'm thrilled to be able to ditch the glasses for a while. Highly recommend!
